Fortinet Stock pitch

OBJECTIVE

In the Fall of 2022, I served as an equity analyst for the Oregon State Investment Group. Each term, students are allocated a stock to analyze and must then present a buy/sell recommendation. I was tasked with evaluating Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), a U.S.-based cybersecurity firm. I delivered a thorough analysis and recommendation through a detailed report and presentation, which incorporated financial statement reviews, corporate news assessments, competitive landscape analysis, and industry trend evaluations. Results

After conducting extensive research on Fortinet, I advocated for a "Buy" recommendation during my pitch. I was convinced that Fortinet is a premium-quality company with a strong competitive edge in its sector.

After the presentation, group members voted on the investment proposal and rated the quality of each pitch, providing feedback. My argument led to a majority "Buy" vote, and I received a strong rating for that term. Looking back, I would have streamlined my slides by using less text and reduced some redundancy in my report.
